TitleAG uses wrong words when talking about Perforce licences and support
Statusclosed
Priorityoptional
Assigned userRichard Brooksby
OrganizationRavenbrook
DescriptionAG section 3.2.1 says: "A daemon license is a license for an automatic process, rather than a person. Perforce provides daemon licenses free of charge; contact Perforce technical support to get one." To be consistent with Perforce terminology, the phrase 'daemon license' should be replaced with 'background user license'. 'Contact Perforce technical support' should be replaced with 'Contact Perforce Customer Service.'
AnalysisThis is Perforce's job 5158.

Change Effect Date User Description
10070 closed 2001-03-16 09:47:34 Gareth Rees In the Administrator's Guide, changed "daemon licence" to "background user licence" for consistency with Perforce's own terminology. Background user licences are available from Perforce Customer Service, not Technical Support.
