P4DTI issue job001469

TitlePython Windows extensions requirement not documented
Statusclosed
Priorityessential
Assigned userNick Barnes
OrganizationRavenbrook
DescriptionThe P4DTI running on Windows will fail in a variety of circumstances if the Python Windows extensions are not installed. The documentation says that the extensions are only required to write to the Windows Event Log or to run as a Windows Service. This has not been true since P4DTI 2.1.0, when the P4DTI started to require the extensions in order to support the Perforce configuration file (p4_config) functionality.
AnalysisUpdate the documentation to reflect the true dependency.
